Firearm transfers can be conducted in multiple ways including person-to-dealer, dealer-to-dealer, Gun Broker or similar online websites, intrafamilial, and operation of law. If you have a unique type of transfer, feel free to contact us with questions.

Flat Rate Transfer Fees:
$75 for all handguns and long guns
$60 for stripped lower receivers and frames
$10 for private party transfers (includes credit card fee)
CA sales tax is applied to all transfer fees. You may also be subject to sales tax on the total cost of the item you are transferring in. An invoice from the seller is required so that we can determine whether or not tax has been paid. For more information click here.

What are Dealer Record of Sale (DROS) Fees?
$31.19 – California background Fee
$1 – Firearm Safety Fee
$5 – Safety Enforcement Fee
$37.19 – TOTAL DROS FEES

Transfer fees only apply when you buy a gun from another dealer/person and you have it transferred to us to complete the paperwork. The DROS fee is applied to every sale or transfer; including PPT.

All transfers are conducted by appointment only, typically on Friday and Saturday mornings. Pickups can usually be conducted Monday through Saturday. The best way to contact us and receive a fast response is via email. If you call during the week, expect a call back by Friday. If you need a call back sooner, request it via email. Thank you.

Firearm Safety Test
If you need to take or renew your firearm safety certificate, we can provide the test on the same day prior to the transfer or sale. $15 will be due and paid to the State via credit card.

Other Transfer Services
We can help with shipping and receiving from firearm manufacturers or other dealers who provide warrant or repair service. This is typically for when you need your firearm shipped out to a company who is going to repair you firearm. DROS is not needed for this service but often times the repair shop requires you to use an FFL to ship and receive it to them.

We charge $65 for this service which does not include the cost to actually ship the firearm. It will be shipped out via Federal Express, either two-day or over night, with signature required. Shipping insurance through FedEx is optional but recommended. It is the responsibility of the firearm owner to provide proof of the value if the firearm is lost and a claim is filed.
